Xan
Xan (or Khana) is an Azerbaijani ghost — the restless spirit of a murdered person or wronged lover. It haunts the scene of death, family home, or grave until justice is served or bones are properly buried. Nighttime apparitions and haunting are its behaviors. The belief reflects traditional Azerbaijani emphasis on proper burial rites.
