Xnifs
Xnifs are mischievous imps of Maltese folklore said to live in ruins and abandoned places, causing minor household troubles and pilfering food. They belong to the broader class of Mediterranean household and ruin-dwelling goblins. The belief is recorded in Maltese oral tradition, though documentation is sparse and largely secondary.
