Yeti (Migoi)

beast · China · Central Asia

The Yeti, known in Tibetan as Meh-teh or Migoi ('wild man'), is a hairy, ape-like being of Himalayan tradition said to roam snow, mountain, and cave. Tibetan lore distinguishes three forms: the giant black Nyalmo, the mid-altitude Chuti, and the small reddish Rang Shim Bombo. Feared yet sometimes revered as a guardian of remote passes, it remains unconfirmed.
