Yule Lads
The Jólasveinar are thirteen Icelandic troll brothers who visit children on the thirteen nights before Christmas, each with a distinct prank (Clod, Gawk, Stubby, Spoon-Licker, Pot-Scraper, Bowl-Licker, Door-Slammer, Skyr-Gobbler, Sausage-Swiper, Window-Peeper, Doorway-Sniffer, Meat-Hook, Candle-Stealer). Sons of Grýla and Leppalúði. Documented in Jón Árnason's collections and 17th-century poetry.
