Zmeu
Zmeu is the dragon of Moldovan and Romanian folklore, a flying serpent, often multi-headed, that carries off maidens and plagues the land from mountains and high places, breathing fire and drowning its foes. Folk ballads tell of heroes who overcome it by courage and trickery. The zmeu represents the perilous forces that the human order must triumph over.
