Zmey
The zmey is a dragon of Bulgarian folklore, a powerful being that can aid people: male zmey protect villages and battle destructive female lamia or hala in the sky during storms, guarding the wheat harvest. Zmey may take human, serpent or cloud form and fall in love with human women; the forest dragon Zmey Gorianin is a noted figure.
