Zmey
In Russian folklore the zmei (zmej gorynych) is a serpent-dragon of skazki and byliny, a fire-breathing monster who abducts princesses and ravages the land. Epic heroes such as Dobrynya Nikitich and Alyosha Popovich slay Zmei Gorynych, and Tugarin Zmeevich appears as a dragon adversary in the oral epic songs.
