Ægishjálmr
Ægishjálmr, the 'helm of awe' or 'helm of terror', is a protective sign of Norse and Icelandic tradition, drawn as a wheel of radiating prongs or staves. In the poem Fáfnismál the dragon Fáfnir is said to have worn the helm of awe, and the hero Sigurðr takes it as part of the dragon's hoard, suggesting a literal helmet in the oldest layer of the story.
