Crown of Ariadne
The golden crown Ariadne wore when she helped Theseus escape the labyrinth of Crete after he slew the Minotaur, and the circlet Dionysus later set among the stars as the constellation Corona Borealis. In Catullus' Carmen 64 the crown is the gift that marks Ariadne's fate after Theseus abandons her on Naxos, where Dionysus finds her and raises her crown to heaven in her honour; Apollodorus also preserves the tradition of the celestial setting.
