Bukkehorn
A natural folk horn cut from a hollowed goat or cow horn and sounded through a mouthpiece pierced in the side. Herders used it on the summer seter pastures and at festive gatherings, carrying loud calls and dance tunes across mountain valleys. The horns range from small finger-hole instruments to long curved signal horns, and survived into the 20th century in Norwegian oral folk music.
