Dyrnwyn
Dyrnwyn, meaning 'white-hilt', is the sword of Rhydderch Hael, the Generous, one of the Thirteen Treasures of the Island of Britain listed in medieval Welsh texts. If anyone but Rhydderch himself drew the blade from its scabbard it burst into flame from its cross-guard to its point, burning the unworthy bearer until it was sheathed again. Rhydderch, famed as one of the Three Generous Men of Britain, refused no one who asked to borrow the sword, but every borrower quickly handed it back once its fiery property was revealed.
