Ghot Pot
The ghot is the pot placed before the bride and groom in the ashirbad blessing of Bengali Hindu weddings, a brass or clay vessel filled with paddy, durba grass and other auspicious items, with a red-and-white thread tied around its mouth. The word ghot covers the pot itself and its role in the blessing, and the pot is kept in the wedding space while the elders speak their good wishes over the couple.
