Gjermundbu Helmet
The only reasonably complete Viking-age helmet found in Scandinavia, recovered from a wealthy chieftain's burial mound at Gjermundbu in Ringerike, Norway, in 1943. The iron helmet has a rounded cap, a spectacle-like eye guard, and a mail curtain for the neck, and was buried with a mail coat, swords, and gaming pieces. It now stands in the Museum of Cultural History in Oslo.
