The looped red tjet amulet, the 'girdle of Isis', worn by the living and the dead for the goddess's protection and said to be her blood, her girdle, or the knot of her dress. Spell 156 of the Book of the Dead directs that it be made of red jasper and placed on the neck of the deceased so that the might of Isis would guard the throat and chest.
