Sao Bronze Bracelet
The bronze and copper ornaments of the Sao people come from the mound sites of the Lake Chad basin, where a succession of urbanised societies flourished from around the sixth century BC to the fifteenth century AD. Excavations at towns like Mdaga and the islands of the Chari and Logone rivers have yielded bracelets, anklets, pendants, and small anthropomorphic and zoomorphic figurines cast by the lost-wax method.
