Sif's Golden Hair

Sif's golden hair is the treasure that the dwarven sons of Ivaldi made for Sif, the wife of Thor, after Loki maliciously shaved her head. To atone for his mischief Loki had the sons of Ivaldi forge hair of pure gold so fine that it grew from Sif's head like real hair, and the making of it opened the great contest of treasures in which the dwarves vied against each other — the same contest that produced Gungnir, Skíðblaðnir, Mjölnir, and Draupnir.
