Skíðblaðnir is the best of all ships, built for the god Freyr by the dwarven sons of Ivaldi and listed among their marvels in the Prose Edda. It is large enough to carry all the gods and their weapons, yet it can be folded up like a cloth and carried in a pouch when not in use. The ship always finds a fair wind wherever it sails, so the gods never lack for a swift voyage, and it is sometimes said to be made of wood thin enough to fold without breaking.
