Lund Minster
Lund Cathedral (Lund domkyrka), the great Romanesque church of the Swedish Middle Ages, begun in the late eleventh century when Lund was the seat of the archbishopric of the Nordic lands and consecrated in 1145. In legend the giant Finn built the cathedral in exchange for the sun and the moon, and was tricked out of his wages; in some versions he was turned to stone, and a carved giant figure still guards the crypt, stroking his beard while a column he was shaping bends above him.
