The Silver Spoon
A silver spoon said to be left by the vittra, the hidden folk of northern Sweden, for humans who helped them or as a sign of favour. In folk tradition such a spoon appeared where none had been, or a borrowed spoon returned with a gift of silver, and the finder knew the vittra had marked them out. The spoon was often a christening gift from the hidden folk to a human child they had blessed, a token of goodwill that the family kept and passed down.
