Vajra of Indra
The vajra is the thunderbolt weapon of Indra, the storm god of the Rigveda, and the foremost weapon in early Indian mythography. In the Vedic hymns Indra wields the vajra to strike down the serpent-demon Vritra, who held back the world's waters, and by that blow releases rivers, rain and light; the word itself came to mean both the physical bolt and the diamond, as being unbreakable and irresistible.
