Woomera
The woomera is the spear-throwing lever of the Aboriginal peoples of Australia, a wooden handle with a peg or socket at one end that lengthens the thrower's arm and hurls a spear with far greater force and distance than the arm alone. It is shaped from a flat or curved branch with stone tools, and the peg is fixed with resin, and in the central and western regions it was the standard hunting and fighting weapon, with the same tool doubling as a dish, a digging stick or a fire-maker.
