Aisha Qandisha is among the most famous mythological figures in Moroccan folklore—a beautiful woman with the legs of a goat or camel who lures men to their doom. She is said to live near water sources: the sea at Tangier, the Martil River at Tetouan, the Sebou River among the Beni Ahsen.
