Beauty and the Beast (Swedish)
Helena Nyblom's Swedish adaptation of the classic French fairy tale. A merchant's daughter sacrifices herself to live with a hideous Beast to save her father's life. Over time she learns to see past appearance and grows to love the Beast, whose love breaks an enchantment and reveals a handsome prince. Nyblom's version appeared in Bland tomtar och troll (1911) with illustrations by John Bauer.
