Ioi decided it was high time for Blue Jay to quit his playful trickery and settle down with a wife. She told him he must select a wife from the land of the dead, from the Supernatural People. Ioi recommended that Blue Jay choose an old woman and suggested the recently deceased wife of a chief. Blue Jay went to the ghost town and courted the ghost woman. True to his nature, he behaved foolishly, misinterpreting the customs of the dead and acting disrespectfully.
