Brer Rabbit and the Briar Patch (Bred and Bawn)
After Brer Fox captures Brer Rabbit using the Tar-Baby, he declares his intent to kill and eat him. Brer Rabbit pleads for his life, begging not to be thrown into the briar patch, suggesting instead that he be roasted, hanged, drowned, or skinned. The more Brer Rabbit begs to avoid the briar patch, the more determined Brer Fox becomes to throw him there. Finally, Brer Fox snatches Brer Rabbit by the hind legs and flings him deep into the briar patch.
