Brother Martin
Set during Sweden's Christianization, Brother Martin, a monk from Sigtuna, travels into the remote Bergslagen region to missionize among pagan forest dwellers. The deep woods are still ruled by the old beliefs, and he finds himself unable to convert the stubborn, idolatrous people. As he pushes deeper into the wilderness, he is set upon by trolls, elves, and other supernatural beings that guard the ancient ways. Despite his unwavering devotion, Brother Martin is overwhelmed by the hostile forces and suffers martyrdom, receiving the martyr's crown in heaven.
