Bukha Noyon the Bull God
A Buryat myth about Bukha Noyon, the sacred bull god who descended from the sky to create the world. In the beginning, the sky god sent Bukha Noyon, a massive celestial bull, down to the primordial waters. The bull dredged up mud from the bottom with his horns, which the creator used to form the earth. Bukha Noyon then became the progenitor of the Buryat people, particularly the western Buryat clans.
