Crane and Changer (Coast Salish)
As told by Snoqualmie Charlie, this story recounts how dukʷibəɬ the Changer came upon a man with very long legs standing by the shore, getting hit over the head by rocks. The Changer asked what he was doing, and the man explained he was trying to get food but the rocks kept hurting him. The Changer took the rocks, declared they would be hammers for the people, and knocked them together, transforming them into useful tools.
