Crow Morning Star
In Crow belief, the Morning Star (Aapisowaahs) is a heroic figure who lights the night sky. He is the son of Naato'si (the Sun) and Ko'komiki'somm (the Moon), created by the first being Apistotoke. Old Man Coyote traveled to the sky world and brought knowledge of the Morning Star back to the people. The Morning Star is associated with new beginnings, hope, and guidance. In Crow ceremonies, the Morning Star is honored at dawn with prayers and songs. The star's appearance signals the time for certain rituals and serves as a reminder of the Crow's connection to the celestial realm.
