D'Sonoqua (Dzunukwa) and the Children (Kwakwaka'wakw)
D'Sonoqua, also known as Dzunukwa or Tsonokwa, is the Wild Woman of the Woods, a giant cannibal ogress in Kwakwaka'wakw tradition. She is black in color with messy hair, pendulous breasts, pursed red lips, and carries a huge basket on her back. She wanders the forests calling 'Hu! Hu!' - a sound that children are told is the wind blowing through cedar trees. She captures children who misbehave or wander too far from home, stuffing them into her basket and carrying them to her remote house in the woods to eat them.
