El Niño Fidencio (José de Jesús Fidencio Sintora, 1898–1938) is a Mexican folk saint and curandero whose cult center is in Espinazo, Nuevo León, and whose devotion extends into Mexican-American communities in Texas and California. Orphaned at a young age, Fidencio began performing healings at age 14 and gained fame for his extraordinary cures, which included surgery performed without instruments, trance-channeling of spirits, and the use of mud baths and herbs.
