How Anansi Got His Stories
Long ago, all stories in the forest belonged to Tiger, and were called Tiger Stories. Anansi, tired of being mocked as the weakest creature, demanded that stories be named after him. Tiger set an impossible task: capture Snake. After failing with a noose, a pit trap, and a cage, Anansi tricked Snake by challenging his length against bamboo. Anansi tied Snake's head and tail to the bamboo, proving that brains can overcome brawn. From that day, all stories became Anansi Stories. The phrase "Jack Mandora, mi nuh choose none" is traditionally said at the end to absolve the storyteller of Anansi's
