How Glooscap Found the Summer
In the long-ago time, there was no summer — only endless winter. The earth was covered in snow and ice, the people were freezing, and the animals suffered. Glooscap decided to find the spirit of summer and bring it back. He traveled to the far north where Winter, a powerful giant, held Summer captive in his ice lodge. Glooscap challenged Winter to a contest of power. They told stories for many days, and as Winter talked, frost grew thicker on the walls.
