Huldufólk (The Hidden People)
Huldufólk are supernatural beings in Faroese folklore described as large-built, grey-clad, dark-haired people who live in mounds, rocks, and cliffs—invisible to humans unless they choose to be seen. They are tricksters who dislike electricity, technology, crosses, and churches. According to legend, they left Suðuroy when electricity arrived in the 1950s.
