King Solomon and the Jinn
According to Islamic and Arabic folklore, Prophet Solomon (Sulayman) was granted dominion over all beings: mankind, jinn, birds, wild beasts, and the wind. He commanded armies of jinn and devils, imprisoned rebellious marids and ifrits in brass bottles sealed with molten lead and his signet ring, and cast them into the seas. He understood the speech of birds and animals, and his throne was carried by the wind. His vizier Asaf possessed the knowledge to bring the Queen of Sheba's throne instantly. Solomon's ring, bearing the Most Great Name of God, was the source of his power, and when lost to
