In the beginning, before there was anything, there existed only an endless void of darkness. Within this emptiness dwelled Kishelamakank (He Who Creates Us By Thought), the Great Spirit. While in the void, the Creator fell into a deep sleep and dreamed of the world as it would become — mountains, forests, animals, and people. Upon awakening, He brought His dream into reality.
