Kolowa is a fearsome, hairy, man-eating ogre from Muscogee Creek mythology. Described as being covered in thick hair and possessing enormous strength, Kolowa lives in the deep forest and preys on humans who stray too far from their villages. Some modern Creek storytellers translate the name as 'gorilla.' Kolowa is particularly dangerous because it can imitate human voices to lure victims into the woods.
