Komokwa and the Undersea Kingdom (Haida)
In Haida tradition, the undersea world is ruled by powerful supernatural beings who control the wealth of the sea. The sea chiefs live in houses made of copper and abalone shell, surrounded by supernatural beings including the killer whale people, seal people, and halibut people. Those who drown do not truly die but are taken to live in the undersea kingdom, where they may acquire great supernatural power and wealth.
