Lars, My Lad!
A spendthrift duke, reduced to poverty, discovers a scrap of paper in a hidden chest that summons a magical servant named Lars who grants every wish. He builds a palace, marries a princess, but foolishly gives the paper back to Lars and loses everything, ending up naked in a ruined hut and nearly hanged before tricking Lars into returning the paper.
