Loundja the Sultan's Daughter

An Algerian folktale in which a sultan's baby daughter, Loundja, is kidnapped from her crib by a female ghoul (ghoula) who raises her as her own daughter. Loundja grows up in the ghoul's cave home, unaware that her mother is a monster. When Loundja reaches maturity, she meets a handsome young man in the forest and falls in love. The ghoula immediately senses his ill intentions and follows the couple into the woods.
