Mama Dlo (also known as Mama D'Leau or Mama Glo) is a water spirit from Trinidadian folklore, the wife of Papa Bois. She is the mother of the waters, a beautiful woman from the waist up but a serpent or fish from the waist down — similar to a mermaid. Mama Dlo guards rivers, ponds, and wetlands, and is known to grant riches and favors to those who treat the waters with respect.
