In this Hopi story, Mockingbird was responsible for distributing the languages and calls among all the peoples of the world. During the migrations after the emergence into the Fourth World, the people were all speaking the same language. Mockingbird called the people together and assigned different languages and dialects to different groups, effectively creating the diversity of tribes and nations.
