Nyamgondho was a poor fisherman who lived on the shores of Lake Victoria. He owned nothing — no cattle, no goats, not even proper clothes. One morning, starving and desperate, he cast his net into the lake and pulled out a hideously ugly woman. Terrified, he tried to throw her back, but the woman spoke.
