Rávga: The Undead Sea Creature
Rávga is an undead sea creature in Sámi folklore, the soul of a drowned person whose body was never found and properly buried. It appears as a long-haired, large-mouthed creature in human form. It harasses sailors and people on shore by calling out and imitating the speech of the living. It can be driven away by reading the funeral service to it.
