A traditional Bruneian folktale about the youngest of seven brothers who was underestimated and mistreated by his six elder siblings. While the elder brothers were strong, skilled, and proud, Si Bungsu (meaning 'the youngest') was gentle, humble, and assigned the most menial tasks. When the Sultan announced a challenge to retrieve a sacred kris (ceremonial blade) lost in the enchanted forest, the elder brothers set off confidently but failed — their arrogance angering the forest's guardian spirit.
