Símun of Kirkjubøur (Hulda-Símun and the Hidden Woman)
Símun Símunarson, nicknamed Hulda-Símun or Troll-Símun, was a massive farmer at Kirkjubøur on Streymoy. A hulduman (hidden woman) lived on Kirkjubøur Felltop. The legend tells how Símun was kidnapped by the Huldufólk and taken to the cliffs near Kirkjubøur. After his encounter with the Hidden People, the Huldufólk were never seen in the village again. Símun was described as so large that his jacket required three lengths of double-width cloth, and none of his farmhands dared walk ahead of him on sheep round-ups.
