The Birth of the Twin Brothers: Sapling and Flint
After Sky Woman's daughter Tekawerahkwa (Breath of the Wind) gave birth, the twin boys emerged in different ways. The right-handed twin, Sapling (Hahgwehdi-yu or Kanehtó:ton), was born naturally and became the creator of all that is good and beautiful in the world. The left-handed twin, Flint (Hahgwehdaetgah or Okarahtsikó:wa), forced his way out through his mother's armpit, killing her.
