An unnamed young lad packs his lunch, leaves the city, and heads into the woods in search of adventure. Meanwhile, in the kingdom, the young princess has gone missing, and her father the king has surrendered control of the realm to his second wife — a conniving woman suspected of orchestrating her stepdaughter's disappearance. On his journey, the boy encounters three troll brothers — Big Brother (with enormous ears), Medium Brother (with a huge chin), and Little Brother (with a prominent nose).
