Caliph Abd al-Malik sends Emir Musa and his party across the Sahara to find the legendary City of Brass, built by King Solomon to imprison rebellious jinn. They encounter a brass horseman statue that points the way, a chained Ifrit imprisoned in a pillar, and an ancient city with walls eighty cubits high and twenty-five gates, eerily preserved but inhabited only by corpses.
