The Cosmic Egg Creation (Bon Tradition)
The pre-Buddhist Tibetan Bon creation myth describing the origin of the universe from a cosmic egg. According to this tradition, in the beginning there was only emptiness. From the void emerged five pure lights, which condensed into a luminous egg. From this cosmic egg hatched the primordial being, who then created the world by separating sky from earth. The egg's white shell became the heavens, its yolk became the earth, and the liquid within became the oceans.
